THE BIG PINK AFTER PARTY

You know that feeling of euphoria you get after a good show? You just want to go out and dance with friends and listen to the band you just saw for a few more hours. Well we have a solution to your concert-leaving-blues: A sweet, sweet after party.

We get pretty bummed after a show ends too. So to make the concert high last a little longer. After The Big Pink show this Saturday, we're inviting the first 150-ticketed 21+ over guests [we wish we could invite you all!] to an Official MGD After Party. The guys from The Big Pink will be DJing a special free set in Metro's balcony...and yes, complimentary Miller beverages will be served. Now how's that for an after concert event? Tickets are still available for the March 20th concert so pick them up stat.

ADVICE FROM THE TOSSERS

Celebrating this St. Patrick's Day? If so, be smart and take some advice from our favorite celtic punk band, The Tossers. In their interview with Metromix, the band talks about some traditions of their own including hangover cures and favorite Irish pubs. Plus (and maybe most importantly) the band shares the dos and don'ts of this rowdy holiday (ie How not to act like a jerk). Click here for the full interview and join us at Metro this St. Patrick's Day for The Tossers' "biggest hometown show of the year." Tickets are available now & at the door.

A PLACE TO BUY EXCLUSIVES

Does the word "exclusive" send that happy tingle down your spine? Then stay tuned; The New York-based noise rockers, A Place to Bury Strangers, just announced that they will be releasing a limited edition EP dubbed The Ego Death 12". Why so exclusive? The EP can only be picked up at APTBS shows.

Get in with the in-crowd and pick up your copy of Ego Death when A Place to Bury Strangers opens for The Big Pink Saturday, March 20 at Metro.

BONOBO VIDEO PREMIERE

Check our pick for video premiere of the week. It's Bonobo's "Eyes Down" off the new album, Black Sands, out March 23rd.

Want more? Check out Bonobo when he plays live at Metro with an after show DJ set in Smart Bar on Thursday, April 1st. Tickets for both events are available now!

RJD2 EXPLAINS MPC REMOTE

Recently, RJD2 took to the wonderful world of Internet video to explain his creation of a wireless MPC remote. Don't know what an MPC remote is, or why it's so cool that it's wireless? Watch the video, and learn your fun fact for the day!

RJD2 plays Metro this Saturday, March 13 at 9pm, joined by Break Science and Happy Chichester. Tickets are available now and at doors.

MUSIC CRITIC IN THE MAKING

At risk of sounding like my Grandma here, I gotta say it, man - Kids are starting out young these days. Take LaSalle Language Academy 8th grader Cooper Staszak, for instance. Not only is he already into some pretty respectable rock music, but he's getting an early start on a career in the music biz. Cooper was at Metro last December to review the sold out show with Rise Against for his school paper. Read what he had to say here.

In other Rise Against news, if you missed singer Tim McIlrath's recent interview with Q101, click here to listen.

BRMC PUTTING SPRING IN OUR STEP

By now we're probably getting really tired of the Chicago winter. The snow, the slush, and the temperamental temperature. But don't worry, March is here with some awesome things for us: Girl Scout Cookies, the return of our regularly scheduled TV line-up, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's new album out TODAY. Now you can have your Girl Scout Cookies, and eat them too. Or you can at least eat them while listening to BRMC's new album, Beat the Devil's Tattoo.

Black Motorcycle Club is in top form with this new album. New drummer, Leah Shapiro (ex-Ravonettes) owns the beat and Hayes knows exactly where he's going with the new album. Check out the guys when they hit town with Band of Skulls on March 25th. Tickets are still available for the 18+ show, so grab them along with Beat the Devil's Tattoo and your Peanut Butter Patties. You won't be disappointed with any of your purchases.
