CONTEST | METRO'S HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

UPDATE: Submissions no longer accepted as of Sunday, November 25th. Winner TBA Monday, December 3rd. Thanks to all that entered!

We've gone ahead and booked not one, not two, but THREE great local shows for the weekend of December 21-23, which shall here be known as Metro's Home For The Holidays Weekend. To sweeten the deal and to go along with the whole concept of giving gifts, Metro teamed up with Skybox to select the opening band for their December 22nd show. That's right, stop what you're doing and read that sentence again...YOUR BAND could win the chance to PERFORM AT METRO with Skybox, Company Of Thieves, The Young Sea and DJ LA*Jesus on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 22nd. The rules are simple...

1. You need to be in a band or be of the music performance types (banjo/washboard duos are encouraged to enter but run the risk of being ridiculed)

2. Said band or act should have never played on the Metro stage before

3. Your band needs to be from the Chicago area (if you're unsure whether your location qualifies, just enter and we'll determine yes or no)

The deadline for entries is SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 25th and the decision will be made no later than Saturday, December 1st. The final winner will be determined by an esteemed panel including the Metro talent buying staff along with members of Skybox and Company of Thieves. The winner will receive a 30 minute set and perform 1st of 4 bands on the bill plus be included in all advertising after December 1st.

Entries can be made by leaving a link to your website, Myspace or the like and/or direct links to mp3s as a comment on this blog post. You can also enter by visiting the Skybox and Company Of Thieves Myspace pages and leaving a comment on their blog post. NOTE: please do not leave comments on their main page.

Good luck!
