Blind Melon is back. Forming in 1990 at a party in Los Angeles, California, Blind Melon broke ground and set the foundation for classic 90s rock. The five men were signed to Capitol Records in 1991 and released their debut self-titled album one year later. The late Shannon Hoon (vocals/harmonica), Glen Graham (drums), Roger Stevens (guitar), Christopher Thorn (guitar) and Brad Smith (bass/vocals) coalesced into a Grammy Award nominated 90s folk-based alt-rock band. Thanks to the success their first album and re-release of "No Rain" single, Blind Melon opened up for artists such as Neil Young, Lenny Kravitz and The Rolling Stones. In 1995, the group put out their second major album, Soup, and set off together on tour.
A mere two months after the release of Soup, lead singer Shannon Hoon was found dead in New Orleans. His death had affected music lovers and musicians deeply. The remaining band members released an album in his honor (Nico) and proceeds went to a program to help musicians with drug and alcohol addictions. Blind Melon split in 1999 after unsuccessful attempts to find a new lead singer. Finally, in September of 2006, Blind Melon had reunited with singer Travis Warren of Rain Fur Rent and announced a new album to be released on April 22, 2008. For My Friends is nostalgic of Blind Melon's 90s rock sound, yet Warren's voice is distinguishable and unique. The perfectly placed solos and honest lyrics prove that Blind Melon was and is a legendary rock and roll band.

When 4 high school kids from Irvine, CA formed a post-hardcore band in 1998 they had no idea how quickly they would rise within the musical ranks. After playing a series of local gigs and band competitions, Thrice hit the studio in 1999 to record 12 tracks of what would become their self-released April 2000 debut Identity Crisis. Thrice's continued local buzz and gigs caught the attention of Hopeless/Sub City who signed the band in 2001, re-issuing their debut album and putting them on tour with bands such as Samiam and Midtown.
After extensive touring, Thrice returned to the studio to record their official label debut and emerged with their signature album The Illusion of Safety in 2002, an album packed with what Interpunk termed "powerful, driving beats and buzz-saw riffs." The success of Illusion opened prime touring opportunities for the band, allowing them to support Further Seems Forever and Face to Face, eventually headlining their own tour and landing themselves a major label contract with Island. Soon thereafter the band participated in the Vans Warped Tour followed by fall touring with Hot Water Music and Coheed and Cambria.
Thrice's major label debut Artist in the Ambulance hit shelves in August of 2003 and demonstrated the band's ability to construct intricate musical compositions. The band transcended their conventional musical stylings with their experimental and unique fourth album Vheissu, transitioning away from their post-hardcore roots. 2007 saw Thrice's most recent release to date, The Alchemy Index, which furthered not only the band's popularity but also their continued reputation as innovative songwriters.
The hiatus is over! Swervedriver, from Oxford, England, have reunited this year and are on the road again. This shoegaze, alt-rock band has been around since 1990, then known as "Shake Appeal." With their debut album Raise, released in 1991 on Creation/A&M records, the group immediately introduced themselves as indie rock phenomenons. Touring with the Smashing Pumpkins in 1993 welcomed a wave of fans and supporters around the U.S. Although the line-up changed a number of times throughout their career, Adam Franklin and Jimmy Hartridge (vocals/guitars) have remained the forefathers of Swervedriver. With Steve George (bass) and Jez Hindmarsh (drums) completing the circle, this tour-de-force is back to blast your ears with 90s noise!
The members of Swervedriver have been keeping busy since their last album 99th Dream released in 1997. Franklin has been actively involved in multiple side projects. Sam Fogarino (drummer of Interpol) and Adam got together in 2007 to form The Setting Suns. An ambient take on indie music that is organic and different from both members' founding bands. Franklin also has a solo project under the alias Toshack Highway. Although the men have been busy little bees, Swervedriver is ready to set off on their world tour, stopping at Metro for their Chicago date!
